Ver descrição

Influenced by the precursors of motion photography - James Muybridge and Étienne Marey - I produced the video art "Imaginary Freedom". It harks back to the beginnings of the 7th Art by simulating how images were projected on the Cinematograph (1.33 : 1 format) developed in 1895 by the Lumière brothers. The scenes, charged with a melancholic atmosphere, portray people's desire for freedom in the period of total confinement during the Covid-19 pandemic. Shadows and blurs blend into the characters, converging their thoughts and longings into a moment filled with fantasy and imagination. This work was awarded the Funarte RespirArte Prize in 2020.
