Thais Iroko
Thaís Iroko (1992, RJ) is a multimedia and self-taught artist who explores in her research fragments of images and sounds as ways of reflecting on memory, erasure and déjà-vus from the movement of her black/non-retinto, feminine and slum body, inside and outside its territory of origin. Permitting herself to imagine and project desires and concerns in a place where the past, present and future meet in superimposed and nonlinear forms, the artist has been seeking to create decolonial fictions of belonging in a world that rejects her body, intellectuality and history. She is a member of the groups Trovoa (RJ) and Preta Pinta Preta, and currently participates in the exhibitions “Poetics Femininas na Periferia” and “Mascaras Ball”.
