João Rates (24 years old) is a multimedia artist, living in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul. He is currently in the last semester of his Bachelor's degree in Visual Arts at the University of Caxias do Sul. His research focuses on the duality of being, debunking the dualities between the actions of feeling and thinking. He started his trajectory in the visual arts when he dropped out of the photography course and migrated to the visual arts, despite the use of images being a present character in his works, which range from digital collages to audiovisual appropriations, among others.
