Julio Urbina Rey (Visual artist. TRansmedia). I was born in Lima, Peru. I live and work in Peru. I graduated from the School of Fine Arts in Lima. Currently my projects investigate the politics of control of bodies, expanded in environments mediated by technological devices. I am interested in questioning the globalized present with respect to certain bodies, dissidences and identities that act in the margins, in parallel or against paradigms that are imposed in the context of Latin America. I approach it from different disciplines, focusing critically on sexuality, the anthropocentric classification of species, bio-surveillance policies, shamanism, among others. This through transmedia experimentation and performance.
