Heejin Jang

  • Seoul, South Korea
Heejin Jang’s video work transforms ordinary portrait, landscape, and the noise of daily routine into something unusual. Jang juxtaposes found images, video footages, and soundscapes in sound performances and multi-channel video installations. The convolution of layered moments demonstrates the way Jang interacts with the culture and place she has been involved in, or has never been reached out. By reediting and overlaying language, pop-culture phenomenon, fandom and issues of propaganda, Jang remixes the moment that when the act of looking, googling, youtube-ing, and consuming certain audiovisual culture turns into a political positioning.
