Hugo Martínez-Tormo

born in 1979 Agricultural Engineer and graduate in Fine Arts, with studies in Multimedia and Visual Arts by the Polytechnic University of Valencia and Interface Cultures of Linz, in Austria. Owing to his scientific and artistic formation, his work and research focuses on the relationship between Art, Science, Ecology and Technology, dealing with issues such as the environmental problem and the human tendency towards self-destruction. Always from a critical point of view, he makes use of Installations, such as interactive, audiovisuals, electronics, mechanicals or acoustic among others, also using painting, sculpture, video or photography, among other means of expression, being a New Media and Multidisciplinary artist. ​ He has shown and exhibited his work both in individual and collective exhibitions, winning various awards and mentions of honor both inside and outside Spain, such as the Ars Electronica Festival of Linz (Austria), BBVA Foundation Award (Spain), Centre Cultural Español de México (México), LABoral of Gijón (Spain), Amber Festival of Istanbul (Turkey), Digital Art Biennale NFC (Poland), Espacio Enter of Tenerife (Spain), IKAS_Art of Bilbao (Spain), Art in the City of Mainz (Germany) or Incubarte Festival of Valencia (Spain), among others.
