Laura Salerno

Laura Salerno is an artist that works as a light designer and assistant to some theater directors in São Paulo, Brazil. The motivation in her work is to be in collaborative works, with different people and realities that challenges rigid structures. Graduated in the Arts Institute of UNESP (Universidade Estadual Paulista – São Paulo), works as a member and manager in the brazilian theatre group 28 Patas Furiosas. Co-founded Formigueiro, a non-profitable collective that researches alternatives ways of cultural e artistic management. Also is part of an art and technology group – named NuDEs - that builds interactive installations dealing with sound, light and programming codes. As a light designer has done mainly music concerts of bands and singers, as well theater and dance performances. In 2016, was part of the project TOCA featuring the city with the project Imagination of Things, a collaborative project with artists both from Brazil and US. In 2017, along with NuDEs, was part of a residence program from MIS (Museu da Imagem e do Som – São Paulo) creating a piece that will be in a 2018’s exhibition at the same museum.
