Monique Melo

Monique Melo is a 29-year-old mining artist, the result of social projects in Juatuba, a city in the metropolitan area of the capital, where he lived until the age of 19. In 2011 he began semi nomadic journey in order to expand its cultural range and it was in Belo Horizonte that he had his first contacts with the circus universe. She has worked with groups and independently, currently a member of Pé Vermêi, a contemporary family circus company he founded with Sister Ana Melo. The artist finds on the street and on the internet her “stages” of preference and currently has a strong influence of female clowery, dance, juggling, pyrophagy, fakirism and cybernetic visual and experimental arts to compose her poetics.
