OMEP

  • RIO DE JANEIRO, Brasil
Born in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro, contemporary and self-taught artist Gabriel Omep had his first contact with art through graffiti in the mid-2000s. Later, through the influence of his mother, also a painter, Omep migrated to the Plastic Arts. The artist's research is the alchemical power between lines and shapes, faces and physiognomies built through abstraction, expressing in a playful way, what is not said, but what is felt through the eyes. Omep has signed several advertising projects, such as the gringa Converse All Star. He has also participated in several group exhibitions, awards and in 2019, he showed his works at the European Latin American Biennial of Contemporary Art, at the Centro Cultural Correios.
