SAMUEL ANDARILHO

  • Bauru, Brazil
I was born in the countryside of the state of São Paulo, in a family of artists. My father is a musician and my mother is a photographer, great influences on my worldview and artistic taste. Since I was very young I have enjoyed drawing and playing musical instruments. As a teenager my biggest musical influences were metal bands or those that played European folk, so I started to appreciate medieval and mystical art, with carvings and dark sceneries. During college, when I studied History, I had contact with electronic music, black music, Brazilian popular music, funk, etc. From the visual arts I followed vaporwave and psychedelic art in general. Currently I explore mandalas and geometric patterns in my art, seeking geometric harmonies.
