Simon Fernandes

The artistic practice of Simon Fernandes (Fortaleza, 1982) explores different media, such as sound art, sculpture and computer language, articulating disjunctions and connections between space, materiality and consumption in the context of contemporary capitalism. His works are part of the collections of the Ilmin Museum (Seoul, South Korea) and the Bienal de Cerveira (Cerveira, Portugal). Recent exhibitions include the group show Dear Amazon (Seoul, South Korea, 2019) and the solo shows Forever Parquelândia (Okinawa, Japan, 2019) While We Sleep, the City Scratches Us (São Paulo, Brazil, 2020), as well as participation in The Wrong Biennale (Web, 2020). He lives and works between Fortaleza and São Paulo.
