Alison Wheeler is a brain injury and trauma survivor that makes works inspired by her healing journey - both physical and emotional. She recently transitioned from traditional painting to digital work, using and iPad Pro, Apple Pencil, and Procreate. This piece is inspired by the Enteric nervous system, part of the autonomic nervous system, it is sometimes referred to as a “second brain” because it contains as many neurons as the brain.
