Acephalus is a digital drawing and painting, part of the series The Imagination of Disaster, made and exhibited in Dubai at Total Arts Gallery in 2012. The Imagination of Disaster series was a visual reflection on the Tsunami in Japan in 2011 that destroyed the Fukushima nuclear plant. In the image with see a figure that is like a dummy and a manuport, a round stone object with a kind of Pacman face “incised,” a pre-historic object associated with human ancestors. The manuport alludes to proto-representation, to the pre-history of human mental capacities; the dummy that has no brains to a probable end of history in mindlessness.
