Cordiais uses facial emotion recognition through micro facial expressions to quantify in a few faces what was defined as the basic emotions: happiness, surprise, sadness, disgust, anger, and fear. Neutrality can be interpreted as a non-emotion or unclassifiable emotion. This technology was used in a selection of historical paintings that depict Brazilian women. The results are decoded in geometrical blocks of color that represent the percentage of the selected emotion in relation to the original size of the painting. Project developed in partnership with Thiago Hersan.
