A generative algorithm in the Cellular Automata model generates circular crochet patterns from a behavior logic established by the artisan. The graphic patterns generated by the code are materialized by the crafter through a process of reading, interpreting, and validating the graphics. When going through this process, the artisan makes several decisions on how to materialize the piece, since the algorithm does not define the materialization rules and only suggests the arrangement of crochet stitches on the circular grid. The result is a hybrid piece of computational and human influences that leads us to reflect the relationship of man with technology in a context of local and traditional production.
