Hello My Son is a pixel animation piece which follows a main character who discovers a large piece of himself he never knew existed; it is also a piece from a grander narrative. This piece was created in the program Aseprite which is specifically made for pixel art creation; the images were then taken into Adobe Premiere for animating. The main source of inspiration was Dante's Inferno when it comes to world building, but for this particular piece inspiration was found in classic horror and biblical tropes. Stylistically, American cartoons from the 90s and 2000s, along with indie pixel games, drove illustrative choices. The drama of the ending is further complimented by dark, yet playful sound design.
