Ver descrição

"Prosthesis I" takes shape as a videoinstallation and is based on two distinct procedures that come into contact in the artist's interest in devices for updating fiction into reality. The first is the purchase in a retail store of metal claws that mimic real claws and are made to break animal claws. The artist gives these objects a simulated life, reproducing in them the movements of "flesh world" crab claws with arduino boards and stepper motors. The video, the second element, is a collection of appropriate materials that begins with various hand gestures and concludes with an experiment where they force an octopus to mimic furniture patterns that in turn mimic patterns from other animals.
