Ravi Vats is a young artist who has worked hard to recover from the past trauma of being a mechanical engineer. His artistic journey has always taken account of his own emotionality so that for him contemporary art practice and mental health often converge. In some sense, there is also an innate affinity to nature and related elements in his art exploration, contributing greatly to his ecological consciousness. Some of his works were foregrounded in recycling raw materials to create art that celebrates their re-birth. His recent project is called ‘Last Unrest’ - bodies in (climate) crisis. It is a four part video art series offering an audio-visual rendition of what it means to be an human in times of an impending climate crisis.
