This project started through a provocation: what if the results of Google Images were curated by a person, by an artist, and not by an algorithm? At the same time, the faked sites used by scammers to steal information came to mind and then how Google feeds on images of the world to produce a visual ecosystem; o-uso-do-mundo.net was born from these points and questions. The first part of this project, is the creation and feeding of a simulation of Google Images on the domain o-uso-do-mundo.net ("playing-the-world"). The website will be online and receiving results daily, until July 12, 2021 the date that marks the 20th anniversary of Google Images. The website is updated weekly.
