The work confronts Modesto Brocos' painting "The Redemption of Cam", a canvas that was used as one of the symbols of the eugenicist theories that contributed to the ideal of whitening the Brazilian population. Including, at that moment, already considering the absence of the black man in this project. The looping gifs of "Cam's After Redemption: Darkening" are composed of the hands of the black characters in that painting and have as reference some common gestures in the context of hip-hop and movements to Oxossi. Thus, these hands are resignified and seek an attempt to reformulate and establish narrative disputes.
