This work is part of a series called "Fiber Optic Body" that creates a relationship between my hormonal process as a trans person and the process of decomposition and death (post-human) - creating allegory for fiber optics, the end result of a multiple body. The second image in the series is the retraction of the Fiber Optic Body post the decomposition process, where its hormonal process - and its proper hormones, such as testosterone and estrogen, are fossilized in the matter of its body, creating a hormonal de-control, placing it outside the essentialization of human and binary perception. I used real prosthetic materials and digital interventions and manipulations to create the image.
